Mallorca: Hotel and food in Platja de s’Arenal

Platja de s’Arsenal in Mallorca is an expansive beach, so today’s article will be focused on where to stay and what to explore around Palma de Mallorca. Specifically, we’re going to dive into the area near the capital city of Mallorca, the so called Platja de s’Arenal.

Let’s get started!

I had the pleasure of exploring Mallorca and I feel compelled to issue a warning. Specifically, Platja de s’Arsenal is fairly German-dominated, so you can expect waiters to attempt conversation in German first. The beach is extensive, featuring more spacious areas near Capi playa tents and becoming increasingly touristy the further away from Palma de Mallorca you go. Nevertheless, a trip to Mallorca would be incomplete without visiting its vibrant capital city! If your destination is Arsenal Beach, it’s worth noting that the middle section offers some peace and quiet whereas eastward activities like clubs, restaurants, and shops can be found in abundance.

Tent capi Playa

Tent Capi Playa pool

I booked a room at Tent Capi Playa via their official website, and the price was very affordable compared to popular sites such as Booking. Looking at the price/performance ratio, I’d rate it 10/10. The hotel may be smaller than others around, but it has a pool and bar, which I thought was great. The room was clean and air-conditioned; there was even a balcony! All luggage can be left with reception which is incredibly helpful if your flight departs later on. There is also an outdoor shower nearby the pool; not too warm but certainly usable. Breakfast/brunch is served until half past one, with a great variety of dishes ranging from eggs to croissants and plenty of fruit and veg – really more than I expected. Prices here are cheaper than most places in Mallorca, so why not take advantage?

Mojito bar

We visited the Mojito bar first. Average in quality, it served cheap sangria and edible food. Do not expect too much though – I prefer it to some nearby restaurants with air conditioning, but there are other places more Spanish than touristy.

Golden Pearl Beach

Golden Pearl Beach is a great bargain! Not only does it have reasonably priced cava, but I suggest buying the whole bottle for just 15 euros. Paella with seafood was especially tasty, so I enjoyed it for a whole week – definitely worth trying!

Bar Restaurant Carrion II

Without a doubt, the best restaurant we visited at platja de s’Arsenal was phenomenal! The sangria with banana was truly incredible and I’d highly recommend ordering the paella for two – it’s a generous portion and the seafood variety is delicious. As they close around ten, make sure you get there a bit earlier to avoid disappointment.
